Sheila Chapman, head of the firm, has been in practice as Solicitor and thereafter Attorney-at-Law since 1966. Ms Chapman was trained in the United Kingdom, and has a distinguished career at the Guyana Bar. She specialises in Family and Probate Law, and Conveyancing, Ms. Sheila Chapman has served on the executive on the councils of the Law Society, Guyana Bar Association and the Guyana Association of Women Lawyers in various capacities as Executive Council Member, Vice President, and President on various occasions. She has actively participated in the drafting of Laws relating to children and gender rights, and adoption, with the most noted being the Family and Dependants Provision and the Removal of Discrimination Acts.

Avril Anande Trotman, has practiced in the Caribbean since 1987 and is called to Bars of Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Grenada. Ms Trotman specializes in Commercial and Administrative Law. In addition to being a founding partner of Chapman & Trotman. Ms. Trotman is also a Consulting Associate with the firm of Seon and Associates in Grenada, and a Consulting Attorney with the Law Firm of Joseph & Joseph, Barristers, Solicitors, and Conveyancers also in Grenada.
In the recent past Ms Trotman has served as the Solicitor General of Grenada, President of the Guyana Bar Association, President of the Guyana Association of Women Lawyers and has been a consultant for USAID, UNICEF and the OAS projects in Guyana and the Caribbean.
Ms. Trotman has benefited from specialist legal training in the United Kingdom in the area of Child Rights and is currently completing post-graduate studies at the University of London.

Raphael G. C. Trotman, has practiced at both the Civil and Criminal bar since 1990. He specializes in Commercial, Public Law, and Criminal Law, and has wide experience in advising and representing corporations in the Telecommunications and Merchandising sectors. Mr. Trotman is a Member of Parliament of Guyana and a former Vice President of the Guyana Bar Association. Mr. Trotman holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Tufts University-Massachusetts, USA and is a Harvard University trained and certified Mediator and Alternative Dispute Resolution specialist. 

Nicola Pierre, specializes in Corporate Law, Probate and Conveyancing. Ms Pierre, former Corporate Secretary of the Guyana Electricity Corporation and Lecturer in Commercial Law was admitted to practice in Guyana and Trinidad in 1998 and has served as the Secretary of the Guyana Bar Association and lectured in Ethics at the University of Guyana.

 

Mr. Donald A. B. Trotman, Barrister and Consulting Attorney with the firm, is a former Judge of the High Court of Guyana and has served as Attorney-General and Solicitor General of the British Virgin Islands and St. Vincent and the Grenadines respectively. Mr. Trotman practices at the bar of many commonwealth jurisdictions in Administrative and Comercial Law.
